A Hypothetical Situation: Imagine you are at level 59, and are entering Warsong Gulch. You know no one will out-level you. You're in a group of people you know. Not guildees, and not a pick-up group, but something in between. Regular combat buddies. And they are also all 59's. All ten of you. They play at the same times you do, and while you don't often run together, you do fight in the Battlegrounds together, often. You are a member of a group with a name, but no guild. It's increasingly known among other players. It's a small group, where every member is made familiar with every other members strengths and weaknesses. And you all have one purpose: Rank. Lots of it. You and your friends have gear better than that of most 59's, because you've been collecting it longer. Also, everything that can be enchanted is enchanted. You're each equipped with potions, high-quality food, and even sword sharpeners. You know what you want - rank. It's the sole reason your group is together. You're very well versed in combat. Partially from simple experience... but also because you and your new friends train often, in an organized manner. As a group, you've studied the moves of each class, and you've had the opportunity to systematically experiment with every last one of your abilities on willing targets. Your group has compiled everything they know, from the web and from experience, on a private website. You know what works. Before going in, your group got together and discussed their battle plan. You selected a leader for this run, and this time it's a more experienced commander. Your group knows how to follow orders. You're divided into specific groups, and everyone knows their role. If anyone wasn't certain, they would have said something - after all, every last one of you is using Teamspeak, and has a mic. It's going to be a good game. And best of all, you never had to leave your current guild to do this.
